With host, Jennifer Cutting, Folklife Specialist,
American Folklife Center (and multiple Wammie Winner)

The early Rolling Stones and Cream covered traditional American blues songs. Early Bob Dylan was hugely influenced by Woody Guthrie. Where can you go to discover hidden musical gems from our Blues, Old-Time, Ballad, and other folk traditions that no one else is performing, or archival material to inspire your own songwriting? Right here in DC at the American Folklife Center in the Library of Congress. Unsure how to copyright your own songs and CDs? We'll stop at the Copyright Information Office for a detailed presentation on how to get your work protected.

Need to look up the sheet music for an old jazz standard or Broadway song? Well stop at the Performing Arts Reading Room to find out how. You'll get your own official Library of Congress Reader ID Card, along with tips on how to use LC’s vast resources. One thing’s for sure… You'll leave even smarter than when you came!
